The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) has introduced supercomputer systems for promoting research activities in JAMSTEC.
New supercomputer systems, including SGI scalar parallel system and NEC vector parallel system, have been in operation since March 2012, being used for numerical simulation and data analysis in the field of earth science.
Moreover, linkage with the Earth Simulator will be seen in applications such as pre/post processing of large-scale simulations.
