We are in charge of operation of the Earth Simulator and technical support for a number of researchers, not only at JAMSTEC but also at many research institutes and private companies. The technical support offered includes programming consultation and the improvement of computing environments.

JAMSTEC has introduced SGI scalar parallel super computer system and NEC vector parallel super computer system for JAMSTEC simulation research activities.
We are in charge of operation of the supercomputer systems, as well as technical support including programming consultation and the improvement of computing environments.

JAMSTEC has many super computer systems, including the Earth Simulator and offers them for use in simulation research activities. We have planed more suitable super computer environments to improve calculation processing performance.

We are also in charge of establishment and management of JAMSTEC main information systems and administration of the network which connecting each sites of JAMSTEC, including network monitoring and security management to defend against unauthorized access and computer viruses.
