Anti-rolling/pitching (or, Rolling reduction and pitching absorption)
| Hybrid anti-rolling system | Active control swell compensator |

In order to improve the accuracy of measurements and safety for the observations under rough weather condition, MRAIl is designed to minimize the movement of cables induced by the roll / pitch motion of the ship.

Hybrid anti-rolling system
Ship's rolling under rough sea is reduced by moving mass in either direction to the port/starboard sides on board. When the mass moves on an arc shaped rail, due to gravity, a "pendulum" movement against ship's rolling occurs. As the ship's rolling is detected by sensors, the mass reacting to movement against rolling is rolled by computer controlled electric motors. To combine both the power of "pendulum" and "electric motor", which called "Hybrid method", an enormous effect of anti-rolling power is expected with small energy use.
It's effectiveness is proved in various navigation conditions from zero-speed to full-speed, therefore, this system is the most suitable anti-rolling system for observation and research ships which encounters various navigation conditions.

Active control swell compensator
The vertical movement of observation instruments induced by the heave motion of the ship is reduced with this system, and the surge on wire ropes and cables is also prevented. High accurate observation can be achieved even on rough sea.
