Public Open of
Manned Research Submersible "SHINKAI 6500" and Support Vessel "YOKOSUKA" At Port of Ominato
The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC: Yasuhiro Kato, President) will open the Manned Research Submersible “SHINKAI 6500” and its support vessel “YOKOSUKA” to the public at the Odaira Pier, Port of Ominato in Mutsu City, Aomori Prefecture.
On the day before, the active pilot of the “SHINKAI 6500” will share his experiences. And also, marvelous achievements brought about by the deep-sea research utilizing “SHINKAI 6500” will be introduced.

- The event may be cancelled due to the bad weather or other factors.

- For safety reasons, people wearing high-heels or sandals, under the influence of alcohol are not allowed, since the floors are not even and slippery inside of the ship.
