The Earth Simulator Industrial Use Symposium 2008
The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC: Yasuhiro Kato, President) is promoting industrial use of Earth Simulator for development of Japanese industry. “Program for Strategic Industrial Use of Earth Simulator” is being carried out, as part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)’s undertaking, “The Program for Creating Innovation by Sharing Advanced Research Facilities: The Strategic Industrial Use”. Fee based usage of Earth Simulator is also provided to industrial community.
The Earth Simulator Industrial Use Symposium 2008 will be held to promote people’s understanding of JAMSTEC’s efforts.
This symposium features the outcomes of private sector’s usage under “the Program for Strategic Industrial Use of Earth Simulator” in FY2007. Professor Chisachi Kato, the director of Center for Research on Innovative Simulation Software, the University of Tokyo will deliver the special lecture. And actual computations of numerical simulation software on the Earth Simulator will be presented.
