Open house of Global Oceanographic Data Center

The Global Oceanographic Data Center (GODAC) of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) will host an open house on November 23, as described below. The open house will feature a variety of events and activities to enhance public awareness of the latest marine science technologies and research activities undertaken by GODAC.

The open house will take place as part of the “2010 Kube Techno Festa - Toward a Global Base for IT and Financial Services (*).”

Focusing on three main areas - deep ocean, Earth’s environment, and information technology which supports scientific research, the open house will provide facility tours, science experiments and many hands-on activities to allow visitors to explore the mysteries and wonders of the ocean and the Earth.

*Kube Techo Festa – Towards a Global Base for the IT and Financial Services

The Kube district is the center of the Nago City’s initiative to transform the city into a global base for IT and financial services. The annual Kube Techno Festa is designed to increase public awareness of the businesses in the Kube District and foster ties between them and local schools. The festa this year will be joined by the Ginoza Server Farm, an IT facility set up in Ginozason.
