Minting DOIs for Information of Research Cruises Disseminated through DARWIN

November 18, 2019

The Data and Sample Research System for Whole Cruise Information (DARWIN) provide information for observation data, rock samples, and sediment core samples obtained by JAMSTEC’s research vessels and submersibles.

Minting Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for information of research cruises retrospectively have been started to improve data access and reuse. At this time, a granularity of DOI is a research cruise.

Please cite research cruises with DOIs in your journal article, presentation and website.

How to confirm DOI

  • A DOI is shown at the item “DOI” on a research cruise page (Figure 1). However, there is a time lag between publishing page and minting DOI.
  • To download a list of DOIs, take the following steps (Figure 2):
  1. Select “Cruise” at the “search for” on the Detailed Search page .
  2. Click on the “Search” button.
  3. Click on the “Save results as a CSV file” button.
