Dr. Hajime Akimoto elected one of 2016 Fellows by AGU

Dr. Hajime Akimoto, the JAMSTEC Fellow, was elected one of the 2016 Fellows by the American Geophysical Union.
He was recognized for advancing the fundamental understanding of atmospheric chemistry and transport and the implications for air quality and climate from regional to global scales.
The American Geophysical Union is the world’s largest organization of geophysics, consisting of approx. 60,000 members from approx. 140 countries. Its Fellow honor is given annually to no more than 0.1 percent of all the members who have contributed to Earth and space sciences. The ceremony for the 2016 Fellows was held on December 14, 2016 during the AGU Fall Meeting in San Francisco.
