OverviewThe structure and function of the neuroprotein which suppressively regulates gamete release in bivalves is demonstrated. The relationship between the suppressive neuroprotein and serotonin as an inducer of spawning and the mode of action of the neuroprotein in the release of egg and sperm will be ongoingly revealed to develop a future technology for artificial spawning.
