GTS distribution Return

The m-TRITON operational data, which are the most recent hourly mean wind, air temperature, relative humidity, water temperature, and conductivity, have been distributed through the Global Telecommunication System (GTS) to be used by the meteorological agencies and institutions for daily weather forecasts, and so on. For data on the GTS, over half are available within 3 hours or less and over 90% are available within 7 hours. GTS lags are due to a combination of the mooring sampling and transmission schedules, the frequency of satellite overpasses, and Service Argos processing time.
