Introduction

The Marine Biogeochemical Cycle Research Team has conducted research concerned with the interactions between climate variability and changes in marine ecosystem dynamics and biogeochemical cycles. The focus of the research was an area in the Western North Pacific where the circulation of deep-sea water terminates.
In this area we established two time-series stations, one in the western subarctic gyre (station K2: 47oN, 160oE) and the other in the subtropical gyre (station S1: 30oN, 145oE). In 2010 we began using the R/V Mirai to conduct a time-series comparative study of stations K2 and S1.

This site provides observational data recorded since 2010 from stations K2 and S1. We will update the data from time to time. The list of available parameters is displayed to the right.
Please note that a part of the data is available to authorized users only.
