A future autonomous underwater vehicle system, which can cruise 3,000 km on its own, has been developed to cover the exclusive economic zone and to contribute to resource exploration, seismic research, and research into climate change.

The Hyper Remotely Operated Vehicle system has been developed to allow oceanographic observations and precision work such as collecting sample or maintenance of ocean-floor cable.
