- README for CTD with Fluorometer (CTDF) data - Vertical profiles of temperature, conductivity, fluorescence, turbidity, and light intensity were measured by the Compact CTD (Conductivity-Temperature-Depth) unit and the light intensity sensor during the MISMO campaign. Details of the sensors used are listed at the end of this file. Log data is stored in "CTDF-log.log" file. Filename (ex. 0610250700.dat) Start time of CTD casting expressed in Localtime (YYYYMMDD HH:MM) Start time of CTD casting expressed in UTC (YYYYMMDD HH:MM) Start position of CTD casting ; latitude DD-MM.MML (L=degN or degS) longitude DD-MM.MML (L=degE) Depth [db] CTDF data are stored in "##########.dat" files. From the first line, the following parameters are stored from the near surface to 200 or 500 dbar depth every 1 dbar. Note that data taken by the primary sensors were used to produce these files. depth [dbar] salinity [PSU] temperature [degC] conductivity [mS/m] EC25 density [kg/m^3] sigma-theta fluorescence [count] chlorophyll-a [micro-g/l] turbidity [ppm] light_intensity [micro-E/cm^2/sec] Fluorescence was recorded as the raw data (N value: 0 to 65520). The chlorophyll-a pigment data was calculated by the following equation. (chlorophyll-a) = 0.0034(fluorescence)-1.6631 R^2 = 0.9137 This equation is brought by the relationship between fluorescence count data and analyzed chlorophyll-a pigment data. Light intensity was mainly observed at noon cast in local time. Some data near the surface shows high values because of influence of the air bable which occured when senser unit put into water.
