Overview
Research for evaluating the impact of restoration activities in response to the subsidence cased by the earthquake on the rocky subtidal ecosystem. Monitoring surveys of the benthic algae and animals will be conducted.

Results and Future Plan
In the permanent survey area of 120 square meters, individual number of Eisenia bicyclis was 129 in July, 2011 and increased up to 501 in June 2013 by new recruits, but decreased down to 58 until January 2018 due to the restoration activity. Genetic analysis for the spore dispersal distance showed that most spores settled within the distance of 5 m from their parents.
