Reanalysis Intercomparison Dataset

A project to promote the inter-comparison of many atmospheric reanalysis datasets created in Japan, Europe and the United States. To facilitate the comparison of atmospheric reanalysis data, we will provide atmospheric diagnostic as zonal means on pressure levels, and as 2-D maps at the Earth’s surface and selected isobaric surfaces.

VAi aims to contribute to the resolution of policy issues and the development of a sustainable socio-economic system by creating and disseminating information that meets various needs.

• Providing intercomparison information of atmospheric reanalysis data

  Based on atmospheric reanalysis data collected on 4DVE from all over the world, NAMR conducts comparative analyzes of various atmospheric diagnostic values, and provides the inter-comparison information on 4DVE to the general public, including atmospheric and climate scientists worldwide.

NAMR is a numerical analysis repository (numerical analysis methods: artificial intelligence, sparse modeling, finite element method, particle method, verification method)

• Analyze atmospheric diagnostic values for mutual comparison

  Analyze various atmospheric diagnostics from the atmospheric reanalysis data saved in 4DVE

  

4DVE stores analysis data including their time fluctuations, and develops and maintains a system that allows users to seamlessly combine and extract information. It is commonly called the 4th Dimensional Virtual Earth.

• Collect and store atmospheric reanalysis data for mutual comparison

  We collect and store atmospheric reanalysis data created in Europe and the United States, including Japan.

  Store diagnostic data analyzed by NAMR for the intercomparison of atmospheric reanalyses and provides it to the end user
