Mar. 2021 We held a meeting to report the results of this project for FY2020 and the 2nd advisory committee meeting, online on March 8, 2021. The meeting to report the results was well attended by participants from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), construction-related companies, universities, national research institutes, and others. We are also very grateful to the advisory committee members for their more professional advice and insights. The expectations raised at the two meetings will be reflected in our future project implementation as we move forward with our research activities. |

Oct. 2020 On October 2, 2020, we held the first meeting of advisory committee online to obtain proposals from advisory members to make our project move forward. |

Oct. 2020 We are holding tutorials for “E-wave FEM”, a program for large-scale finite element analysis of earthquake ground motion developed in our project in October to December 2020, targeting the project members from the private companies. Generation of computational mesh for subsurface structures, domain decomposition for parallel computing, parallel computation of earthquake ground motion in supercomputers and visualization of the results are explained in a series of five webinars. Based on the feedback from the members, we plan to improve the functions and user interface of the software so that it can meet the requirement of industrial use. |

Sept. 2020 We held the project meeting online with representative and cooperating organizations on September 4, 2020. In the meeting, we performed confirmation of progress at each organization, discussion about the future plans and consideration of the contents of the meeting to report results. |
