TRITON buoys are observational buoys deployed mainly in tropical oceans. For El Niño, Asian monsoon and other climate research, the well-networked array of such buoys has been operated to keep measuring surface meteorology and upper ocean over the long term in tropical areas from the Indian Ocean to the western Pacific.

If requested, JAMSTEC provides, with or without fee, photographs, videos, and visualized images of simulation results obtained for its basic marine research and development and for its joint academic marine research.
The listed images are available free of charge without seeking permission from JAMSTEC if they are used for non-profit educational or personal purposes (Creative Commons Attribution – Non-commercial “CC-BY-NC” license). Users shall not alter or remove any copyright notice in the images. If images are used for commercial purposes, users shall submit an application and pay copyright or license fees.
