3 Progress in FY 2002

Although the researcher of the many field in connection with earth environment was in the earth frontier, by the total integration type drawing of the time of inauguration, we decided to put emphasis on research of the individual process in each field for the time being, and field crossing and a project like this research were not considered. Then, it decided to assemble newly the researcher engaged in integrated model development, and to make the core team of making a model, having each speciality. The researcher was sought in August and it opted for five persons' participation. Among those, three persons arrived at their post by December, and started activity. Remaining two persons are the schedules of the participation from FY 2003. It is required for wide range specialists to gather for making an integrated model, to share fundamental knowledge, and to make the design of the whole model. Since FY 2002 was the degree of project inauguration first year, the study meeting which mainly performs review of the present condition of research, proposal of each model development process, and discussion for every special field of study by making a sub subject into a unit was held 7 times. Activity of each subgroup is explained to 4 based on the argument by these meetings.
