Job Description | We are seeking a Senior Engineer(II), Engineer, or Engineer(II) to develop a data assimilation system using atmosphere-ocean coupling system. [Job Description] (Immediately upon employment) In the construction of a data assimilation system using a coupled atmosphere-ocean model, it is necessary to construct a complex package that includes forward integration, observation data processing, backward integration, and optimization using the descent method, and to efficiently perform these calculations. Specifically, we will develop the following 1) Construction and improvement of a data assimilation system using a coupled atmosphere-ocean model. 2) Development and improvement of algorithms and calculation methods for efficient computation in the above systems 3) Development and improvement of calculation programs to enhance compatibility with multiple architectures. Working Conditions & Contract Period | (1) Number of positions: 1 position for a Senior Engineer(II), Engineer, or Engineer(II) (2) Type of contract: Tenure-track fixed-term employee (3) Working Hours: 9:00-17:30 (Lunch hours 12:15-13:00) (4) Contract Period: Total period will be terminated on March 31, 2030 after a contract renewal. First contract period is from June 1, 2025 to March 31, 2028. *Contract period can be renewed depending on the performance and working attitude of the successful candidate. *Effective date of employment is negotiable. *One contract period is a maximum of five fiscal years. The contract period will not be renewed. *On reaching the age of 65 during an employed fiscal year, the contract period will expire at the end of the same fiscal year. This bylaw may change. *After undergoing an evaluation during the period of employment, the contract may be modified to one without termination (termination of employment would be at the end of the fiscal year in which the employee reaches the age of 61, or the age of 65 if the employee is rehired after their retirement). Salary | Annual salary (paid in 1/12 equal monthly payments) e.g., JPY 5,500,000-8,800,000 *Overtime payment will be added to monthly salary. *Salary will be competitive based on the academic qualifications and demonstrated research and development skills of the candidate. *Bonus and retirement allowance are included in the annual salary. |
Terms of Employment | (1) Upon appointment, the successful candidate will receive relocation allowances. (2) Allowance for commuting expenses will be provided.
