The TEAMS logo was designed so that all those who are involved in the project will share the purpose of the research program and address the issues together in order to achieve the goal.

The logo represents the state of the research teams involved, consisting of researchers not only from Tohoku University, AORI, and JAMSTEC, which are the central institutes, but also from all over Japan. The logo also addresses the research program in the coastal areas in the Sanriku region, where mountains and sea are contiguous.

We realized our wish to incorporate results conducive to the society into the logo and also to include our aim of sending out information to the world. This is symbolized by the outward-extending circles in the logo.
