2025 Workshop on Ocean and Atmosphere Simulations

The workshop has successfully concluded. Thank you to all the participants — we look forward to seeing you at the next workshop.

The workshop aims to bring together scientists across a broad spectrum of atmospheric and ocean sciences, including their modeling, their interpretation with data analysis, and related observational studies. Our objectives include fostering the exchange of research findings, sparking new ideas, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, and promoting lively discussions. The workshop will cover topics such as air-sea interactions and various atmospheric and oceanic processes, including biogeochemistry and weather extremes, using approaches ranging from theoretical to applied and regional to global scales. Presentations on idealized to high-performance modelling or data assimilation, and theoretical or statistical data analysis and data visualization of those outputs are encouraged, as are observational studies that validate, inform, and improve modeling efforts. This workshop serves as the successor to the OFES Workshop. The "OFES Workshop" is a legacy event that began in 2006, shortly after the Earth Simulator was launched, and has since been held nine times. In addition to OFES (OGCM)-related topics, past workshops have also featured AFES (AGCM) and CFES (CGCM) presentations. This year, we are excited to resume the workshop, which had been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
