Green Legacy Hiroshima is an initiative to spread worldwide the seeds - and the peace message - of trees that survived the atomic bombing in Hiroshima. The head of JAMSTEC/Application Laboratory, Dr. Toshio Yamagata, recently have had chance to communicate with the people who promoted Green Legacy Hiroshima and to plant the seeds of radiation contaminated trees at the YES campus of JAMSTEC with other APL members. The head of the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) Hiroshima Office, Mr. Alex Mejia, and the bureau chief of the International Ocean Institute (IOI) Japan branch, Ms. Masako Otsuka, visited the YES campus and joined the ceremony.
