The Mutsu Institute for Oceanography (MIO; Shuichi Watanabe, Director-General) of the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC; Yasuhiro Kato, President) will open its research facilities and the Oceanographic Research Vessel “MIRAI” to the public as described below, in order to increase people’s understanding on our research activities.

Theme: | “Watch and Learn about the Ocean” ~Explore the ocean to learn about global warming~ The main theme of the event is “global warming and climate change”. Enjoy on-board tour and experiment classes. There are full of mysteries and attractions in the ocean. |
