The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC: Yasuhiro Kato, President) will host the fifth seminar of the “Ocean and Earth Institute” series as described below.
The seminar aims to increase public understanding and awareness of marine and earth sciences, by introducing JAMSTEC’s activities and latest research findings in an approachable and comprehensive way.
The seminar, titled “Unveiling the Wonders of the Deep Sea,” will take place in collaboration with the Hiroshima Children’s Museum. A former pilot of the manned research submersible “SHINKAI 6500” along with experts in marine technology, biology and geosciences will introduce JAMSTEC’S research and submersibles including SHINKAI6500, the deep-sea organisms and marine mineral resources.
