Seventh Seminar in the Series of
“Ocean and Earth Institute”
~ Windows to Deep Seafloor ~

The Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) will host the seventh seminar of the “Ocean and Earth Institute” series as described below. This series of seminars is designed to increase public understanding and interest in marine-earth science and technology, by introducing JAMSTEC’s research activities and latest findings in an approachable manner.

The seventh seminar, titled “Windows to Deep Seafloor- Extreme Environments Explored with Cutting-edge Technology,” will feature deep sea exploration technologies and research projects undertaken by JAMSTEC. A lecture and hands-on science activities for children will also be held.

The seminar will take place in Nagasaki City, co-hosted by the Umi Festa (ocean festival) Nagasaki Working Group and the Nagasaki City Board of Education.
