International collaboration with other projects


2020

  • July 2020: Nakamura (A02-7) will join the final WS of the Belmont Forum CRA “Climate Predictability and Inter-Regional Linkage” in Lisbon.
  • May 2020: Minobe (A03-9) will attend PRIMAVERA (EU Horizon 2020 project) final General Assembly and will propose for collaboration analyses for post-PRIMAVERA period after the end of PRIMAVERA in 2020.
  • Mar., 2020: Minobe (A03-9) continuously serves as a co-chair of CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel.
  • Mar., 2020: Moteki (A02-4) made an introductory presentation on the new particle measurement method (SPES) in the monthly seminar of NOAA Earth System Research Laboratory Chemical Science Division.
  • Feb. 2020: Nakamura (A02-7) joined the US CLIVAR Surface Current WS to suggest international collaboration with Hotspot-2.
  • Feb. 2020: Nakamura (A02-7) and Nonaka (A02-6) joined as external partners to the proposal lead by Koenigk Torben "Simulating the Ocean Mesoscale in the Earth system to support Mitigation and Adaptation and reduce Risks for society - SOMMAR" submitted to the European Commission.
  • Jan. 2020: Nonaka (A02-6) introduced the Climatic Hotspot2 project at the workshop on "Building an International Transparent Ocean Community" in Qingdao, China.
  • Jan 2020: Masunaga (A03-9) attended the WCRP GEWEX Data and Analysis Panel (GDAP) meeting in Tucson, AZ, USA as a Panel member to present updates on the Precipitation Assessment.
  • Jan. 2020:The second order draft of IPCC Working Group1 contribution to Sixth Assessment Report has been submitted, to which Kosaka (A03-8) and Kanaya (A02-4) contributed as a Lead Author and Review Editor respectively.
  • Jan. 2020: A perspective paper for Large Ensembles written by US CLIVAR Large Ensemble working group has been accepted by Nature Climate Change. Minobe (A03-9) is a co-author.

2019

  • Dec 2019: Inter-product comparison of global precipitation datasets with focus on extremes has been published in Environmental Research Letters. This is an effort in collaboration with the ongoing precipitation assessment project led jointly by WCRP GEWEX Data and Analysis Panel (GDAP), and International Precipitation Working Group (IPWG). Masunaga (A03-9) is the corresponding author.
  • Correlaboration paper among PRIMAVERA, international CLIVAR and hotspot2 has been submitted to Environmental Research Letters (in revision). Minobe (A03-9) is the corresponding author.
  • Oct 2019: CLIVAR Pacific Regional Panel meeting was held at Victoria, Canada and Kosaka and Imada (A03-8), who are the panel members, attended it. Also, Nonaka (A02-6) and Minobe (A03-9) attended as observers.
  • Oct 2019: Nonaka (A02-9) and Minobe (A03-9) attended the working group meeting of the PICES working group 40, Climate and Ecosystem Predictability, in Victoria, Canada. Nonaka is a co-chair and Minobe is a CLIVAR co-chair of the working group.
  • Oct. 2019: Minobe (A03-9) attended the panel meeting of CLIVAR Climate Dynamics Panel, to which Minobe serves as a co-chair, in Greek.
  • Sept. 2019: Kosaka (A03-8) attended and made a presentation at the project meeting of Belmont Forum international collaborative research action “InterDec”, held at University of Bergen Norway, as a member of the project.
  • Sept. 2019; US CLIVAR air-sea interaction working group has been established and Minobe (A03-9) has become an international member.
  • Sept. 2019: Minobe (A03-9) attended the Large Ensembles workshop in Boulder, USA as a major activity of US CLIVAR Large Ensemble working group, to which Minobe is an international member.
  • Aug. 2019: The third Lead Author Meeting of IPCC Working Group 1 Sixth Assessment Report was held in Toulouse, France, which Lead Author Kosaka (A03-8) and Review Editor Kanaya (A02-4) participated.
