Researcher: Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in a closely related field of research or technology development. Research Technician / Engineer: Applicants must have completed master degree in a closely related field of research or technology development, or possess equivalent development skills. [Qualifications and experience etc.] Applicants who have taken a leave of absence, suspension, or resignation from research and development activity for at least three months due to childbirth or childcare, and who fall under any of the following categories: (1) Applicants who are raising children who have not yet graduated from elementary school (until March 31 of the year they turn 12) as of April 1, 2023 (2) Applicants who are raising children with illnesses or disabilities (3) Applicants who have been employed or previously employed as a Restart Postdoctoral Fellowship by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) . *Successful candidates will be required to submit documents that prove they meet the common requirements. |

| Working Conditions & Contract Period | ・Effective date of employment is negotiable. ・In accordance with JAMSTEC bylaws, on reaching the age of 65 during an employed fiscal year, the contract period will expire at the end of the same fiscal year. This bylaw may change. ・After undergoing an evaluation during the period of employment, the contract may be modified to one without termination (termination of employment would be at the end of the fiscal year in which the employee reaches the age of 60, or the age of 65 if the employee is rehired after their retirement).
