John Dawson Prize
Prof. Tetsuya Sato, the Director-General of the Earth Simulator Center, has received the second John Dawson Prize at ICNSP&APPTC joint international conference, which was held at the Nara-Ken New Public Hall in Nara, Japan on Jul. 12-15, 2005.
John Dawson Prize: The American physicist, late Dr. John M. Dawson established the very foundation of plasma physics simulation. In praise of his great achievements, and in order to praise those who play a world-wide leading role for improvements in the area of simulation study of plasma physics. Dr.Sato has received the second John Dawson Prize, following the first John Dawson Prize winners (Dr. C.K. Birdsal and Dr.A.B. Langdon).
