R/V MIRAI

"cruising to Singapore"

Partly cloudy, but mostly fine.
Calm sea condition.

Observations:

Nothing particular.
Researchers worked for the maintenance of their instruments.

Remarks:

MIRAI is still cruising to Singapore. Photo-1 shows the sea-container which contains the FM-CW 35-GHz cloud radar and Mie-scattering LIDAR systems inside. These systems are operated under the collaboration among Tohoku University, Chiba University, and National Institude of Environmental Studies, and it is often equipped on the MIRAI. Researcher who had much experience of the MIRAI cruise maintain the LIDAR system (photo-2).
