これまでにハワイ沖とフレンチポリネシアからのみ報告されている希少種のBathypalaemonella pandaloidesを中マリアナ海嶺・西マリアナ海嶺北部沖合海底自然環境保全地域に位置する立冬海山で発見しました．これまでのサンプルでは状態が悪く形状が確認されていなかった重要形質であるpereopod2を初めて記載しました．また本種が八放サンゴコロニーより発見されたことから，サンゴと共生している可能性を示唆しました．
