Marine Environmental Impact Assessment Research Group (M-EIA)

Interdisciplinary research and development for the coexistence between human society and the marine environment

Spatial-temporal fluctuations of ocean environment are understood as one of the natural phenomena, or as anthropogenic effects. Our group is researching technologies and mechanisms for understanding and assessing the impact of human activities on the ocean environment. This research is an interdisciplinary approach that integrates knowledge of social science as well as natural science and marine engineering. Currently, we are working on development of technologies to understand the physical environment of the ocean, analysis of physiological and metabolic functions underlying the genome, development of integrated visualization technology using AI and statistics models, and mechanism for evaluating impacts on our society.
