Short CV

I have been working on developing statistical physics with a constant interest of how to express "the mechanism of life" as an extension of the established physics.

Research Topics

Statistical Physics
I have been working on lattice models of nonequilibrium softmatter such as colloidal suspensions and granular materials, and heterogeneous systems such as disordered magnets. In those studies, I have focused on dramatic collective phenomena often associated with a phase transition in such systems and introduce new analytically tractable models for such a phenomenon by developing statistical-physics approach.

Graph-based approach to cell dynamics
I am recently working on using graph-based approach to obtain new basis to study cell dynamics. Though the current targets of phenomena concering cell dynamics are chemical reaction networks in a cell and microecology of microbial ecosystems, the main focus in this topic is on constructing a proper mathematical framework to study such complex systems with multi-hierarchy.
