Policies for Handling of Data and Samples obtained during Research Cruises

Documents related to handling of data and samples obtained during Cooperative Research Cruises (CRCs) and JAMSTEC Cruises:

Policies and regulations for handling of data and samples

Policies for handling of data and samples
The ownership of CRC DATA is shared by JURCAOS and JAMSTEC, whereas that for JAMSTEC Cruises' DATA is hold only by JAMSTEC. Data and samples are managed under respective policies.

JAMSTEC regulations for handling data and samples
JAMSTEC regulations for handling data and samples are documented in this file. Regurations for CRC data and samples under JAMSTEC operation are included as well.

Public Disributuion Moratorium Periods and Routine Ovservation

Public Distributuion Moratorium Pediods for data and samples
Data and samples obtained by research cruises are made available at online databases and other suitable methods. Durations of Public Distributuion Moratorium Periods may vary depending on applicable handling policies, and data or sample types. On the other hand, no moratorium period is applied to the Routine Observation Data which are acquired routinely by selected onboard-equipped instuments.

Document on acquiring Routine Observation Data
Routine Observations are operated independently from individual cruises' needs of research projects. In general, no moratorium period is applied to Routine Observation Data, but onboard researchers can set appropreate moratorium periods if needed. Different sets of onboard-equipped instruments are selected for individual vessels, for operating Routine Observations.
