A person has been confirmed to be positive for the COVID-19 after boarding the research vessel KAIMEI which was at the JAMSTEC Yokosuka headquarters quay (Yokosuka-city) to prepare for the KM22-02 research cruise.
In response to this situation, JAMSTEC has postponed the KAIMEI research cruise scheduled to depart yesterday, Sunday, January 23.
JAMSTEC and its Emergency Response Headquarters Office headed by the President will continue to take necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 following the instructions of the local public health center.
