A person who works at JAMSTEC Yokosuka Headquarters (Yokosuka-city) and a person who works at JAMSTEC Yokohama Institute for Earth Sciences (Kanazawa-ku, Yokohama-city) have tested positive for the COVID-19 PCR tests.
A person has tested positive for the COVID-19 PCR test while aboard the research vessel KAIMEI which is berthed at the JAMSTEC Yokosuka headquarters quay (Yokosuka-city). We are investigating the impact on the future cruise.
JAMSTEC and its Emergency Response Headquarters Office headed by the President will continue to take necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 following the instructions of the local public health center.
