Access to Previously Acquired Data Samples
Samples and data collected for scientific purposes during DV Chikyu’s JAMSTEC and IODP research cruises are to be opened for general research purposes after the end of their respective moratorium periods. The moratorium period is a priority use period for all cruise researchers, and is fixed for each cruise as they are completed. These data will be opened to the international science community and to the general public at the end of each respective moratorium period.
The treatment of samples and data obtained during research cruises are treated dependent on the cruise origin: JAMSTEC cruises follow JAMSTEC policy, while IODP cruises follow IODP policy.
For sample and data requests, please follow the relevant procedures as described in the links below.
- JAMSTEC cruise data & sample requests > JAMSTEC cruise, dive data, sample search system (DARWIN)
- IODP data & sample requests > Sample and Data Requests Database (SaDR)
- IODP CHIKYU cruise data (Sio7 Data Webpage)
*Please note that the JAMSTEC data websites "DARWIN" and "Sio7" are currently offline due to an information security incident discovered on 16 March 2021. If data from Sio7 are required while the website is offline, please contact JAMSTEC MarE3.（mare3-expjamstec.go.jp）
