The documents required to board each research vessel are listed here.
Please use the Google Forms to fill out the required documents. Please download and submit the other required documents.

*Since the Hakuho Maru research vessel is shared with the Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute (AORI) of the University of Tokyo, the application & required documents for boarding can be accessed from the AORI website (Japanese only).

If you plan to load equipment or tools regulated by the "Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Control Law", you will need to apply for permission yourself. In addition, please contact the MarE3 Operations Group Point of Contact.

NOTE!
- Please have your passport, visa, if required, flight information details and any other relevant documents at hand when filling in the forms. (Not required for domestic travel)
- In case of not having a valid passport and/or visa at the time of submitting documents, please let us know the expected date of getting one. Make sure to inform the person in charge by email after acquiring the necessary documents.

Please select the observation equipment installed on RV Mirai as per your preference. Please note that we may not be able to respond to changes or additions made immediately before the cruise.

If you are planning to install any observation equipment regulated by the "Foreign Exchange and Foreign Trade Control Law", please apply yourself. Please remember to inform the person in charge about your plan.
Loading/Baggage List
Please use this document to list the required carry-on observation equipment you wish to install and operate on RV Mirai. MarE3 staff will check the equipment's purpose and the desired installation location.
Submission method: Signed final version of the original form as email attachments or by post. (JAMSTEC staff can submit all by email attachment)
NOTE!
- For gases, please fill in the dangerous goods list (high-pressure gas/chemical substances).
- Please provide us with the required power supply details.
Research Materials & Equipment Loading List (Cargo Handling)
- Placement and handling of research materials and equipment onboard the vessel will be assessed based on the cargo itself.
- Our staff will notify the researchers and 3rd parties of any changes to the planned cargo handling.

NOTE!
- Please let us know of your selected cargo carrier. Make sure that the carrier of your choice can transport your cargo to RV Mirai.
- Please make sure to provide us with the details (name, affiliation, contact information) of the witnesses during the cargo handling operation to RV Mirai. Please use the witness column in the attached Excel file.
- Please contact us by email if there are any changes to the cargo, such as not finalized paperwork at the time of document submission or anything else that require attention.

Use the attached form to fill in any dangerous materials such as high-pressure gas and chemical substances you are planning to use onboard the ship.
