Team KUROSHIO receives Achievement Award from the 2019 Advanced Marine Science and Technology Society Spring Meeting

Team KUROSHIO received the Achievement Award at the 2019 Advanced Marine Science and Technology Society Spring Meeting (May 30-31).
This award is for the achievement of participating in the "Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE" international competition and developing a system for unmanned deep-sea bottom survey.
The results of the Shell Ocean Discovery XPRIZE were announced in the Principality of Monaco on June 1 (Sat.) at 02:30 Japan time, with Team KUROSHIO as the runner-up.

The seafloor exploration team include members from the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC), Institute of Industrial Science, University of Tokyo, Kyushu Institute of Technology, National Institute of Maritime, Port and Aviation Technology, Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding, Nippon Marine Enterprises, KDDI Research and Yamaha Motor.
