"m-TRITON deployment"

Fine, but light rain was found in the night

Observations:

We deployed m-TRITON buoy at (0, 79E) in the morning. Sea depth was about 4800m. After that, we also deployed sub-surface ADCP mooring at 10 nm west of m-TRITON buoy. These buoys consists of intensive buoy array for MISMO campaign. To validate the data, we conducted CTD cansting two times near the m-TRITON buoy.

Remarks:

It was our first trial to deploy the m-TRITON buoy in the open ocean. Since we adopt slack-line method for m-TRITON buoy against strong surface current, we need long enough cables with 6000m and it took about 4 hours to deploy it (photos 1-6). In order to have enough stationary observation period near (0, 80.5E), we deployed a sub-surface ADCP mooring, too. We deeply appreciate ship crew and marine technician for their help. Actually, the deployment is one major objective of the MISMO, since it consists of key observation network. However, this is just beggining of the intensive observation.
