R/V MIRAI
"many isolated echoes"
Fine, later mostly cloudy, and sometimes rain in the night.
Weak wind and wave height was 1.4 m.
Observations:
Radiosonde observation at 3-hour interval, 6-hourly CTD, and other
continuous observatons were carried out.
Snow-white sonde was launched at 1100 LST.
In the morning, sea condition was calm and shallow convections were
frequently observed. Diurnal cycle of SST was dominant. Non meso-scale
convective systems were often observed. But some of them were merged
and organized in the evening and much precipitation was found (photo-1).
Remarks:
When the radiosonde was launched, many people come to see it (photo-2).
In the afternoon, we had 8th MIRAI seminar. Today's speaker was a
research group who conduct the videosonde (photo-3). In the clear sky
condition, however, they voluntarily help the release of Snow-white
sonde (photo-4).
Finally, small note on the MIRAI. We are proud of meal of the MIRAI.
At the mess (photos-5, 6), many people can enjoy the meal time.
In particular, various dishes are atractive for studensts and some of
them take a picture for every meal.
