R/V MIRAI

"buoy array completed"

Fine, partly shower.

Observations:

Routine observations such as 3-hourly radiosonde have been continuously conducted.
We deployed an m-TRITON buoy at (0, 82E) in the morning (photos 1-4), while we deployed a sub-surface ADCP mooring in the afternoon.

Remarks:

Surface/sub-surface mooring array has been completed. We appreciate all members who devoted to this task successfully. This array will obtain the data during the coming one month. We are now cruising to west, and we will start the stationary observation at (0, 80.5E) from tomorrow.
According to the satellite cloud images, there exists convectively active region from 50E to 100E along the 5N line. Around the MIRAI at (0, 82E), we saw many congestus clouds and many showers were observed (photos 5-6).
